Acronym tag

In the Opera browser I noticed that when using the acronym tag it displays the title part of the tag and then what you wanted the acronym to display.

This doesn't happen in IE, Firefox and Safari why is this and is there a way around it?

Re: Acronym tag

It's the browsers behaviour. Each browser has unique methods of rendering and displaying additional information (such as title and alt tags). You might be able to override it with a hint of Javascript.

Re: Acronym tag

Could you point me in the right direction to go about doing that?

I don't know any javascript yet how would I go about figuring out how to write piece of script to override it?(without telling me how to do it exactly)?

Re: Acronym tag

Actually, what version of Opera are you using (and on what platform)?

With Opera 9.25 on XP Pro SP2, I get the same behaviour with <acronym> tags as I do in FF and IE (acronym, with tooltip on mouse over).

Oh I see what you mean! Yeah, I'm sure a spot of Javascript would sort that. Let me take a look and I'll get back to ya
