how to remove frames

Hi All,

In my application I have used frames and divided the page in to 2 segments.

I have placed a button in one segment , the click of which should remove the frames . How to implement this in HTML?

Right now when i place a button in segment 2 and redirect , only the segment -2 changes to the new page, whereas my segment 1 remains the same. As per my requirement the click of this button should display the page without any frames ie without segments.

Hope my explanation is clear. Kindly help me in this. I know this is simple .I am relatively new to HTML

Thanks in advance
Arun Kumar

Re: how to remove frames

I don't understand why you don't just get rid of the frames all together, CSS is much better for page layout

Re: how to remove frames

Let me explain this in a simple means...

In my first login page , there are no frames used.It displayes page without any segments

After autentication ,it directs to a page which has two iframes .

Now when I log out , I should not have frames , i mean it should display the page without any segments , just like a login page which I have said in the first

can anyone help me out in this?

There is no feasability of avoiding iframes as per the design and the solution

Thanks
Arun

It would be really useful if you could get it hosted and send us a link? That way we'll have a better idea of the problem

Re: how to remove frames

Frames are really bad for SEO purposes. You should try using CSS/DIVS etc. for your layout.

I don't think that is an issue, as it is an authenticated session, and I am guessing that he isn't letting google see whats behind the door.

I would force the session to clear when clicking the logout button, as it sounds to me that if they are still seeing frames they are still logged in.

what authentication method are you using and what code are you using once users are authenticated?
