Page validation
I have read a few threads here where people are asking about how to make a page with an embedded flash file validate. The answer often seems to be to use a script. I know the scripts recommended have more benefits than just making the page validate, but if you are using script just to make a page validate, it seems pointless to me. Although the W3C validator won't mark it as invalid, the script is still inserting an invalid <embed> element.
Wouldn't it be better to just have a page that doesn't validate than one that validates but uses script to insert the invalid elements? |

If you're going to write invalid code, at least do so honestly. |

Re: Page validation
Something like SWFObject does have its benefits, besides 'valid' markup. Namely it's a great way to serve up alternate content and it fixes the IE7 'ActiveX' required click.
