Webdesign?
I have a grasped of html and css but i'm have trouble putting them together to form a nice webpage. Let's take sitepoint.com(a webpage i came across while browsing for help) for example. How did they create the links on top of the page and how can i improve/learn how to build better webpage with html/css? ...i know css better than table, so should i stick with css or use both?

Sitepoint use CSS for the links it is actually quite easy to do with link effects.

Look at the source code and CSS for the pages. Download Firefox and this:
http://chrispederick.com/work/webdeveloper/ toolbar for it and you will be able to view loads of useful stuff to help you get a grip on the cool stuff you can do with CSS.
