Hello peeps

What's the correct mark-up for an unordered list?

Do I have to put the whole thing inside a paragraph, the individual items in a paragraph or nothing at all inside a paragraph?

<ul>
   <li>Item 1</li>
   <li>Item 2</li>
   <li>Item 3</li>
</ul>
<p>And you continue your paragraph over here.</p>
