Re: Does anyone knows how to use frontpage...

I do, as I'm sure many of us do. Let me save you the time of posting an addition forum topic and say the following:

FrontPage is a wonderful product to use if you're just learning, as it was for me years ago. But, I know now that I wish somebody stepped in and told me to instead learn Dreamweaver in the begining instead of FrontPage. I would've gotten much farther, much sooner.

So, consider this me/us stepping in and saying "FrontPage is easy, but you'll be better off learning Dreamweaver"

I do as well.

It is very easy to insert the images once the have been imported into your website. Aligning - the best is to use styles.

Well if you are in a cell, you can apply left and top vertical align to the cell and the image would be apply there.

You could consider using a layer which FP makes absolute and put the image in there. I never really care too much for absolute positioning

NVU is a free WYSIWYG editor. Expression web is a new Microsoft product, it creates cleaner code but you need to know / understand code a bit more than Frontpage.

It sort of is. Well right now, MS has no intention of doing another version. They listened and created a WYSIWYG editor that creates clean(er) HTML code.

And they did away with the Frontpage Server Extensions (FPSE). So now all those small businesses that relied on FPSE to handle their website are out of luck. All those people that thought they could build a website without knowing a bit of code are out of luck.

Expression web relies more on the user understanding and knowing code

Re: Does anyone knows how to use frontpage...

Yeah, speaking of Frontpage websites, dont. Frontpage is no longer supported by many hosts. I can't tell you how many people we are doing websites for now because their site doesn't work. (Frontpage extensions have been dropped). Now all the good hosting companies gave their clients a fair warning or offer to host them for an additional fee...

If you are looking to maintain a website and don't want to learn the coding then use something like Dreamweaver. Its coding is still horrible, but its not based on made up extensions and will usually be viewable by most browsers.

Also, if you want to actually have control of a website, then learn to hand code. There is nothing faster, easier, less stressing, then hand coding a website, because when you get it to work, and then it breaks, you can generally figure out why it broke and fix it.

It shows that you created it in DreamWeaver. I could create that in FrontPage with less code. Hand code everything unless you want substandard code. Tables. Ugh.
