Photo Gallery on website
Hello all-
Some questions for trying to create a photo gallery on our corporate website: I need it to look something like this: http://www.basicgrey.com/catalog/ide...b0d7cb5a31c7ee What would you say the specs of the submitted photos are? How much server space does this require? (we may need to up ours in order to support this function). Any other suggestions? I'm doing a search on hotscripts right now for a PHP script that will acheive this look. Thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!! |

Re: Photo Gallery on website
You might check out Coppermine - that is one that a lot of PHP users seem to like.
I am not too familiar with it myself we primarily use ASP for everything. |

Re: Photo Gallery on website
I sound silly, but can someone remind me again the differences between using PHP, ASP and any other options out there? Is any one better than another? Am I limited by what we have here (what our server is?)
Not sure, call me clueless... |

Re: Photo Gallery on website
Primarily, PHP is ran on *NIX servers while ASP / .NET is ran on Windows. That is the bets. PHP can be installed on Windows but you cannot use some of the components. And a version of ASP can be installed on *NIX but the same goes with that

Re: Photo Gallery on website
That site looks like it is using something like Web Album Generator. I haven't used this in many years, but I believe it is pretty simple. I thought Adobe had an easy free one also, but I can't seem to find it.
These types are pretty easy to use, you just make the album at your pc, then upload the files. The other types of galleries do all the work for you, makes thumbnails, others can upload files and add to the gallery, etc. People can add comments. Good luck finding one you like. |

Re: Photo Gallery on website
If you are saavy enough or have a connection, it would be cool to integrate LightBox into your gallery.
http://www.focusminded.com/2006/01/0...photo-gallery/ I am really, really digging that gallery lately. Good luck - let us know what you end up with!

Re: Photo Gallery on website
The basic gray gallery has a drop down where u can filter by category or uploader (designer). Does anyone know what gallery application they are using? My client is looking for an exact solution.
