creating a link to an ftp web site

Hi guys,

Anyway you can help me on this?

I created a link to <a href="<A href="ftp://1.1.1.1/users/">to">ftp://1.1.1.1/users/">to login Secure FTP </a>

It brings the user to a new browser but doesnt open or connect or even ask the user for a user id or password.

Is there a better way to do?

I'm not sure of other browsers, but in Satan's browser (IE), you simply type this:

ftp://username @ website.com/ minus the spaces.

I tried this but it gives the same result with a "page cannot be displayed" message but when you refresh it. It works. But I'd like to make it work from the website and not to ask the user to refresh the page.
