Re: Fading background image

Re: Fading background image
I don't think that you can do that any other way than a gradient background, but please correct me if I am wrong!
but geyids, you really need to get your site into xhtml with div's and css!! those stupid little typical table borders look plain old CRAPPY! I love your site, with that COOL navigation (I love the colors!) but that tabely, "nonclicky-clicky |

Re: Fading background image
mmmh whats new in CS3? I haven't used it coz I use Linux and Windows 2000. I don't like windows XP and CS3 does't go in any of them. Still using DW8!!!

Re: Fading background image
Yea I'm interested as to whether theres anything worth upgrading for. I'm mquite happy in DW8. I imagine cs3 is just going to take up more system resources.
Is it really worth it? |

Re: Fading background image
I dont really know the difference between DW8 & CS3 because i never had DW8, although CS3 has some cool SPRY stuff.. but as yet i have still to use it! I still think CS3 is worth it because the package of programmes in its suite!

Re: Fading background image

Adobe InDesign® CS3 Adobe Photoshop® CS3 Extended Adobe Photoshop CS3 Adobe Illustrator® CS3 Adobe Flash® CS3 Professional Adobe Dreamweaver® CS3 Adobe Fireworks® CS3 thats all one package, which makes it superb! |

Re: Fading background image
...and expensive...and memory hungry...and maybe not much better than just running PScs2, DW8, Flash 8 and Illustrator cs2?!

Re: Fading background image
I seriously don't understand why all you hand coders use DW. I'm not saying its a bad program but its so draining on your system and expensive. Obviously if you have it then fine but for a fraction of the cost (often free if you're using a pc) then you can have a brilliant text-editor that is very light on resources.
The best ones are on mac and cost money in my opinion but unless you want oddball features then you won't miss much to be honest. The only things I require from a text editor is code highlighting, tag closing and a snippets bar or similar. If you're mac based my shout is for BBedit (though check out textmate and skEdit) and Transmit(ftp). Pc based PsPad, TopStyle and SmartFTP. Cost you the tiniest amount of money or nothing if you go for TopStyle lite or whatever its called. Seriously guys give them a go. It might not be for you but for simple hand coding DW is a bit overkill for me. Oh but this subject has been done a million times there's even a sticky somewhere with suggestions for html editors I think. Pete. |

Re: Fading background image
Oh but for the record DW CS3 is the best yet, I think. A lot of the new features are workflow ones but there are some interesting new features that I will be taking a look at soonish. I don't know what they're like yet so I'll wait before I pass judgment on them.

Re: Fading background image
so bruno u r the graphics guru is fireworks the best than photoshop? I think this programmes have a lot that we don't know yet. So you cant say DW is not the best if you don't know the inside of it. The programme that someone uses if the best for him coz I'm sure he has gone in to its depth. I use dreamweaver coz of the drop-down menu when u r coding and tells you of browsers compatibility.
