**Dreamweaver Help Required Urgently **

Hello

HELP we're really stuck! We have just tried to optimise our site following Rob's advice and now we've really buggered things up!

When we go to view the site in the browsers, all of the images are missing and have been replaced with a little box with an 'x' in it (I'm sure there's a technical term for it..!).

In the location of the source file, the folder containing the image has been preceeded with ../ so apart from manually changing every source locator is there an easy way of fixing this?

This has come about because we wanted to change our URLs (we removed the htm extensions, then it wouldn't let us save without the extensions so we put them back) then we changed the hierarchy of the site....... and now it's all gone to pot! brilliant! Maybe we should use a professional next time (?!).

If somebody could help this evening we would be most grateful...

Many thanks

Re: **Dreamweaver Help Required Urgently **

You could do a find and replace (CTRL-F)

Find:
../images (or whatever your images folder is called)

Replace with:
/images (or whatever your images folder is called)

Always make backup files. then if anything ever goes wrong you can just upload the old files again.

Yes - Yes - Yes. Or you could do what I do and simply rename the old files something like this: index-old.php, or index.php-old. Then upload the new files. Which means if there is a problem all you have to do is delete the one you just uploaded and then rename the original back to what it was and BINGO!

I can't tell you how many times that comes in handy :-)

Although - the edit css feature in the web developer toolbar has eliminated much of the need for doing that. One more benefit for doing a site all in CSS.
