How is GIF pronounced?
My partner and I disagree on the pronounciation of "gif" (graphics interface file)... Do you all pronounce it with a soft 'g'-- i.e., "Jif." or with a hard G -- "GIF"?

Dzjee - Eye - Ef.. Pronounce that quick, and you'll get the "Jive".. but that's probably not right either..
 In dutch we use the really hard "G" from the back of our throat.. sounds way cooler .. ("gif" in dutch means "poison"  )Anyway, I'm no help to you.. so ignore me |

I'd say GGGGGG-i, like GIF. you gett G-I-F. or is it GGG-IF. My mom says it's G-II-F. Sometimes I try to be funny and don't manage.

Down here in the south we call it a Gif not a Jif so sorry there. If you say "I have a jif I want to give you" We think, sweet I'll bring the bread! because "Choosy moms choose JIF"
