I thought I'd place this here cos they had been in the css forum.

Firstly, my buttons aren't working and there doesn't seem to be any reason why at:

Secondly, I'm now coding all my pages in dreamweaver with xhtml and eliminating tables. I get them to look good in DW but they then go wrong in the browser. Why?

DMX wont allways show you what your page will look like exactly....ive found its best to trust the code then what dreamweaver says it looks like lol.

which buttons...the flash ones? they work fine....

No. The 5 big non-flash buttons at the bottom. (gallery, blogger etc). They don't work, not being picked up as buttons.

Can't work out why! I'm trying everything.

well i notice youve made it a background image....why not just make it a normal image and apply <a href="......

well i didnt go into your source...but i right clicked it and it says "view background image"....

OK, we've established that they are background images. But I still don't know why they are, what i've done to make them like this and, most importantly, how to make them normal images that function as buttons. I cannot see what I've done different in the code. They exist within the container div, but that shouldn't matter. They are just images with a href attached to them.

What, what what am i doing wrong????

i think its somthing to do with the image

If you look in your source...you apply the div

Its stretched tht image all the way thruogh your page if you look. Why that would affact the links i dont know.......if you want i cn move this post into the css forum and u might get better help....

I took out the background from the CSS and still no luck.

Can Somebody Please Help Me With This. I'm Getting Extremely Frustrated With A Problem That Is So Annoyingly Trivial Yet Seemingly Impossible To Resolve. I've Tried Everything, Apart From What Would Fix It Of Course. Please. What Have I Done Wrong? They Are Just Images With Links. I've Tried Putting Them Between A Div, Span, No Div, Tampered With /img> /> Etc.

It's OK. Benbramz has cracked it. He helped me on MSN.

It was an issue with Safari and Mozilla on Mac whereby the combination of href, img and float seemed to mess things up.

I've now posted the new one with no float.
