Two problems - image alignment and new browser windows.
I'm building a new site.
Still only basic at the moment, but; http://www.skwizz.co.uk/ Now, the original problem I had was that I'd managed to slice and get the buttons to work (lots of CSS help from d3mon How do I move to the next page within the same browser window? The new problem is that, when I transferred everything to this domain so I could show you guys the problem above, I notice the header is offset 1 pixel to the right if you click a hyperlink to the page. It's fine if you navigate to any of the pages there using the buttons (there's only one header and it only accesses the same set of slices / images which make up the header on every page) but not clicking a hyperlink. The daft thing is that you can navigate to the same page using the "Home" button and it will appear to be inline again. What have I done wrong? |

You need to center the main header so it is inline with the background.
To stop the links opening in new pages, remove the target="_blank" from your code. |

Thanks sypher.
think the header is centered. It only goes out of line if you arrive at it from a hyperlink. If you get there from one of the buttons, it's the same page but the header's lined up. Thx for the '_blank' tip. I'll pull it now. |

Scratch that.
It was my fault. I'd managed to move the whole image off to the right when I'd ammended part of the text on that page. I've altered the master copy and it all lines up fine again now. Thanks again. |

Have you tried viewing the site at a high resolution in firefox?

I know I'm going to get flamed to death but I don't use the fox so I don't have an easy means of checking it (don't they eat skwirrells anyway?
I like IE and, as most other users still do to, I'm designing this site for it. This site is probably not going to get a tremendous hit rate and was more an exercise in graphics / technique / layout. Although d3mon's wetted my appetite for CSS as well now, so I'll have to look into that too. Thanks for the thought though. If I go onto bigger affairs in future, I'll check into it more. |

Well it doesnt mean that you have to use firefox, if you've never used it before you might not know. But you can just install firefox then just check sites in it whenever you need it and just use IE as your main browser. But after using Firefox (same as IE except more and better functions) you wont go back

Well I installed it.
Then I uninstalled it. lolol Incidentally my site didn't display anywhere near correctly in Fx. I know Pro developers would sit down and work out why and make the necessary corrections but, for me, I just wondered why I should be attracted to it when it doesn't display pages correctly. I'll stick to IE. Thx anyway though. Was interesting to see it. Always up for new experiences. |

I have more display problems in IE than firefox :P
You should really centre your design and code around firefox. |
