Browser compatability

I downloaded Opera a little while ago and noticed a couple of things that concerns me. I'm hoping you guys might clear this up so I can figure out what's happening.

Also, although the box is checked in Opera preferences to play web music none of the sites I visit that have web music coded with BG sound doesn't play music. Flash music or movie objects, however, do play.

Any clue as to why this is? Is it an Opera thing, or a coding thing?

I have 'enable sound in web pages' ticked in Opera and I'm sure I've heard sound normal bg sound played on pages I've visited before. Could you give us a link to a page that has music which doesn't work for you?

it was on all of my pages with that tag. I now have Flash and just made music-only flash objects that are now in place of the other code, so the bg sound tags aren't on the pages any longer.

However, I did find a lot on the web regarding BG SOUND tags not functioning in Opera. All of the sites I found regarding the web page sound issues in Opera said to use Flash objects, or the embed tag (which I hate and decided to not use).

So i guess it is an Opera thing.
