Hi, I am trying to block visitors from viewing my sites source using javascript and I can't seem to get it to work. Please, help. Is there a way to do it?

There is no way to do this. There is no reason to hide HTML anyway. I assure you, the chances of someone using your HTML in a way that would hurt you is less than 0.000000001%. You can encrypt HTML to a point, but it doesn't take much effort to unencrypt it. Encrypting probably isn't good for search engines, and it makes pages take longer to load.

Like Ryan said ... don't bother. You put that script on there and it'll take a use 2 seconds to disable it

Yeah its just a waste of time for you and gives you a headache. Besides what if some webdesigner likes your work and wants to see how you got things to function? Be proud of your code. You deserve it.

There aren't many practical reasons for doing this. As long as you can prove that you designed the site, why worry who can see how you did it?

IMHO, it's important to understand that the "work" (in the sense of a "work" of art, etc.) is the originality of the site design itself, not the code that powers it. Nobody looking at your code can take that achievement away, but they might learn something and become a better designer themselves. Isn't that how we all learn? Is that something to be prevented?

You might worry about somebody directly copying your site, but it's highly unlikely that any skilled designer wouldn't be able to duplicate your page fairly closely without being able to see the source - if they really wanted to.
