Random picture survey picture help

Hey guys, Thanks for looking at my thread. I need to make an online survey for a research job I have.

I need to display a Random picture and enable the user to rate this person using radial buttons (on a scale of 1-7 or strongly agree - strongly disagree) and have that information ( which picture and what ratings they gave them) recorded so it can be possessed

My skills in HTML code isn’t strong and I don’t think Frontpage is up to the task. Can anyone HELP me? Any suggestions about the best medium to go about this?

-John

ASP, or PHP. No other way around it.. Frontpage's extensions will offer a way you can do this but that would require you to read an email for every single vote. Your going to have to learn Server Side Scripting for this, or hire someone that can do it.

I agree php is prolly gonna be your best bet if you are gonna learn it yourself. It has some similarities to html and your also gonna have to learn sql which is the server side database. It is not that hard but leave a reply to let us know what way you are going with this.

It depends what your definition of "not that hard" is!

If you are not familiar with programming terms and ideas then you might find it challenging.

These guys are definetly right - You should ideally use ASP or PHP. If you've ever used VB or VBA then ASP will be right down your street. If you've ever used Javascript then PHP might be more your style. There are many free tutorials for both available around the web which might help you decide if you're not sure or help you decide that you don't want to do this yourself and want to hire someone.

If you're not familiar in HTML code either, then you'd better have some cash or some spare time on your hands because if you don't learn it and do it yourself it'll cost you!

Nice find smokie you just saved that guy a lot of work and money but to jould you should learn something about all this anyway. Webdesign is a very rewarding skill and is an ever-changing skill. Personally it is not my obsession.
