View Source

Hello

I am new to web site design. I am in the process of building a web site.

Can anyone tell me why, all of a sudden, I can't view the source code. I added some meta tags and since then I can't view the code.

This is a great forum, I wish I'd found it sooner

Thanks

Hi Costabrava and welcome!

Not being able to view the source code surprises me! Adding anything to the code should not stop being able to view it.

I would assume you're using Internet Explorer and that your default HTML editor, is Notepad?

To check (this could well be the problem!) go to tools> internet options and click on the "Programs" tab.

If your desired program is there but not working I can only suggest trying a different program or trying to open a file directly using that program. That way you can eliminate what is causing the problem.

Of course a URL may help us too. We could take a peek, and see if it affects us that way too.

Yup it's a terrible annoying bug in IE... usually all it takes is for me to refresh the page, but i've heard from other sources (and you guys too) that emptying your cache is the supposed proper way to *temporarily* fix it.
