Thumbs up How to embed video?

Someone pl. suggest me how to embed video. I FEEL - windows media file format is best, as mediaplayer is built-in with windows platform, so there is no need to download any plugin. Pl. suggest the right format

I agree with the post above, but for the best chance give a selection of different formats

Re: How to embed video?

hahaha...or most users have a flash plugin...and you could play the video within flash...also if you do that you could build your own video player...and make it match your website.

Re: How to embed video?

Windows Media is a awful format hehe although with things like Flip4Mac quicktime can play Windows Media files no prob so its not that big of an issue. I however would suggest the flash video approach as more people will have flash installed. And with flash you can have a static image load instead of the flash movie if they for some reason do not have the flash plugin.

Re: How to embed video?

Don't use Flash!!! Phew, that needed evening out. I suggest offering multiple formats. As for the actual question. Surely Google was faster than posting here: http://www.google.com/search?q=Embed...eo%20in%20HTML

Re: How to embed video?

I hate YouTube. The main reason I don't like it is because I like the ability to save videos, but Flash also runs so much slower on my system than QuickTime does.

Re: How to embed video?

Yeah, I like to save videos to...but you could put a download link at the bottom of the player for them.

Re: How to embed video?

No really...I love the players on youtube, that look very professional I just would like to be able to download videos that I like instead of just bookmarking them. But if your video player is within flash and done correctly it would be much more accessible in the long run.

Re: How to embed video?

If you could download the videos on you tube, youd stop visiting the site as often and advertising revenue would drop.

Method to the madeness.

Re: How to embed video?

Apart from YouTube, Google has always placed both user experience and functionality first, advertising second. I don't think YouTube should be an exception.

Re: How to embed video?

I agree that a flash player (with a seperate video download link under it) would be the nicest option.

Re: How to embed video?

I agree with rob because at my school they pretty much block everything and we have to use proxifiers to view pages and most of them have java blockers s o you cant see flash. So i recomend that you use quicktime. Its supported on more plat forms.
