Stretching Tables

Hi Guys,

Im just looking for a bit of help with a layout that I am making in Dreamweaver. However when over a certain length of text is typed into my table area, other parts of the site also start stretching with it. Is there any way of having the cells of a table to be individual of others.

If you go here - http://1414squadronatc.org.uk/NewSite/staff.htm you can see that the sublinks has stretched along with the rest of the page. However I would like it to remain the same size as it is on the other pages. Anyhelp would be appreciated.

Alio

Re: Stretching Tables

You will need to add another table row for that page.

Leave some of the right column text in this table row. But once you have it so that the sublinks column is the height you want, put the rest of the text from the right hand column in the next table row below.

Most likely all the text after the word "Adult Sargeants... " will have to be moved to the 2nd table row.

Hope you could understand that?

Re: Stretching Tables

To be honest and not to be a mean picky nose face.. I would scrap that whole thing and start over with XHTML Strict and CSS. It will make things much easier for you in the long run. I would be happy to help you out with a generic template for you to work off of.

Edit: The attached zip archive is how it should be built =). Check it out, learn and live. You will notice it is done in a lot less markup and is much easier to manage, edit, navigate the source etc.. I even included a IE 6 specific style sheet so it works perfectly in Firefox and IE 6. I didn't have much time to test it in everything else and only spent 10 minutes on it.
