Disappearing ICO Favicon

Hi I built this little site a while ago: http://www.madthings.co.uk/ and added a .ic image to it that worked at the time. Recently I noticed that all my ic are not appearing in IE6 apart from a couple of newly added sites. Is there something wrong with the code or is it IE6.

Here is my code:

HTML: Select all

<link rel="shortcut icon" ref=".ico" />

Have noticed some sites make it a little more fancy and add an image type at the end like this:

<link rel="shortcut icon" ref="tap://9rules.com/bloc/.ico" type="image/ico" />

Any thoughts, yes please?

This is what I use.....

<link rel="icon" href="/favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" />

I think you have a typo in your link rel

Thanks I have changed the code and it works. Also found this info on the forum: http://www.webforumz.com/graphics-fo...oesnt-show.htm

The rel wasnt a typo error as I copied and pasted the code, it happened when I published the post!! Strange
