cant find website - moving hosts / registration being processed

hi there - wonder if someone can help me please?

I changed the DNS of my website on 5 March 2008 from 123-reg to jamroll.net as my new hosts. I've always been really pleased with jamroll, although their support seems very sporadic at present. www.kidsstuffhungerford.co.uk

Nameservers changed almost immediately on Nominet, but I cant get into the website...

WHOIS says that Registration status:
Registration request being processed.

123-Reg wont respond sensibly to my questions, and jamroll say that the registration needs to be complete before i can set up my site, but that's the end of their support..

Who do I need to talk to - jamroll (new hosts) or 123reg (registrars), and what do I need to ask them to do?

I've never had this waste of time problem before..Am tearing my hair out.

It may take г to 2 days for the nameservers to be changed.

I'm sorry to tell you this, but Jamroll are not being honest with you.

A web hosting company CAN setup any web hosting account they like, even if the domain name registration has not yet been completed.

In fact, if they wanted to, they can setup a hosting account for a domain name that hasnt even been registered yet
(Although this really isnt wise in case somebody else registers it)

From what we hear over and over, 123-reg seem to be giving you their normal level of excellence, so dont expect too much from them.

As long as your name servers have been configured to the ones provided by Jamroll, its then the responsability of Jamroll to take care of the rest.

You need to ask Jamroll to pull their finger out and get your hosting account up and running pronto, or else.

I really dont understand why it takes other companies soooo long to do something sooo simple. Website transfers can often be completed within hours, and we dont leave the website alone until its all up and running.

13 days is far over and above anything that would describe "un-acceptable" and I would even go so far as to say it is "beyond incompetent" if they are saying they cant set it up until registration is showing as completed, as its VERY easy to confirm that you have registered the name yourself with a quick WHOIS lookup @ dnsstuff.com

If I were you, I'd be looking for a new host yesturday and get everything up and running within the next 24 hours, job done, case closed.

Let us know if yo need any help, as it can be a right pain in the bum dealing with some companies.

Thank you WESH. I had a flash of inspiration last night and parked the website under one of my existing ones. Obviously I only want this to be temporary but it's a quick and dirty fix til it gets set up properly.

In the meantime, I like using freehosts, but does anyone know of a pretty reliable one with reasonable support and with maybe the little google links at the bottom, rather than banners? that way I can hedge my bets...

Sadly Daisy, when your using Free host's, nobody is paying for anybodies time or guarantees, so you really will get what you pay for.

Can I ask why your spending so much of your own time and money looking for and dealing with free hosting when good quality paid for hosting would have resolved this ages ago and saved you a lot of money in lost time and effort?

This is looking like those designers who will spend days and weeks trying to get a free peice of software working, when a paid for equivalent would have completed the job in hours and isnt actually expensive at all.

Well I see that you are happlily hosted with jamroll right now, and your website seems to be up and running too. So what was the confusion?

I think that you need to sent them a ticket or call them. I think that is the best way to get problem sorted.

Do a little reading before replying buddy. Its a free host, no helpdesk, no phone number, just a forum where you ask, and hope for a reply.
