Good Host that will assist with Tweaks?

i have a PHPBB2 message board that i need upgraded possibly to Invision or PHPBB3. it uses about 50gigs of data transfer a month and is of adult discussion - not a photo site but there are pics that can be uploaded to the album. looking for a good host that would assist with installs, upgrades, tweaks to the interface. any suggestions?

you have to be careful which host you choose, many hosts will not allow any type of adult content at all,

most hosts have a programme called fantastico where your board is practically installed for you, you just need to input minute data info, like your username and password, as for upgrades and tweaks, you will be really hard pushed to find a host that will do that,

it may have to be that you pay someone else to do it for you separately, i think to sum up, i dont think there is a host that will cater to all your needs. sorry

they are a hosts not a web design firm, most will not have a clue how to do it even if you asked them and offered to pay for it.

thanks, yea we're currently with a good host. but we got a new owner and he doesn't really get along with our web host (often hard to reach and not instantly available 24/7) who seems like a 1 man show that also does the installs and tweaks and plugins to our PHP2BB interface. i'm trying to convince our new owner that he's good compared to other hosts but that probably won't be able to give us the level of attention we currently get.

to be honest the best solution for sites like that is specfic adult/mature hosting companies or just buying a cheap dedi for yourself so you only really have to follow your own rules and the datacentres(which usually aren't many)

not really as datacentres define there own rules then hosts can define rules on top of that so the datacentre could have little rules but the host could have lots of rules if that makes sense. Anyway there are specialist hosts for adult sites as well as there are specific datacentres who are used for alot of adult servers

Yes, the best thing to go to the adult-oriented forum where you are sure to get names of datacenters and hosts, netpond.com is one of such places, however you may get a cheap dedi option instead from fastservers.net or ahosting.biz and this will solve any issues.

It seems (according to your needs) you need to have VPS server at least (50GB of space). I think that you have to concentrate on the VPS finding. I believe that you will find shared offers with 50GB of space offering I would recommend you avoid such kind offers. For decent VPS provider my recommendation is HostV.com
Anyway you have to decide, but if you want much be ready to spend much.

I'd try Dreamhost.

From what i can remember they allow adult stuff, and the installs and upgrades to stuff like PhpBB are very easy to do.

I know that hqhost.net has very polite and friendly stuff. But not sure if will help you with installation related issues.

Fastservers.net dedicated options are not cheap at all

, if you need cheap ahosting.biz is ok, check serverpronto.com as well.
