Pay with Paypal?

I have a Paypal account set up which all my money for 'Web Work' goes into. I'm trying to purchase a domain name, a .co.uk, but none of the people I can find will let me use my PayPal account to pay for it and want the money straight from my credit card, which is not what I want. Anyone know of a company that will let me?

Cheers, Jack

Re: Pay with Paypal?

Well, there are many web hosts that accept PayPal. It is strange that you didn't find something at the beginning. Glad to here you are with 1and1. This is big host and it is a good one.

Jack

Shame you did ask us, we take paypal too. Loads of designers use paypal, so it just makes sense to accept it

Re: Pay with Paypal?

Christopher, no need to be sorry buddy, although to be honest, I'm surprised that you would stick up for 1and1, although I guess if you never try to leave, change anything, or ask for support, you may not have encountered the other side of 1and1?

lol, 1and1 subsidise there domain names from their hosting business, we dont.

1and1 are cheap due to the fact that should you ever want to cancel, or leave, or even just transfer your name elsewhere, it will cost you far more than £3 of your own time to sort the mess out that they will make of it.

By the way, thats not an opinion, thats fact as we have helped dozens of customers to try to leave 1and1 and found that it is not only severly time consuming, but is also extremely difficult and frustrating.

So, are you really saving money in a situation like that? Especially over £3

Re: Pay with Paypal?

Thanks for that view, i always wondered why they could do it so cheap.

And to be honest, cancelling for me wasnt a problem, though i've only done it once!

Their hosting is expensive!
