Cannot connect my site from Dreamweaver NEED HELP PLEASE!

I have designed a website on Dreamweaver 8, and am trying to upload it. I know my Ftp Host, Username Password etc, and when I test the connection it is successful, but when I got to put a file I get a message saying "An FTP error occured-cannot make connection to host.Your login or password is incorrect. Please check your connection information". I then go to test the connection in site definition and it still connects successfully. I really have not got a clue what to do.
Any Help will be really appreciated as I have a deadline coming up.

Can you try uploading through a regular FTP software to see if that works?

FireFTP (a firefox addon) and FileZilla are popular choices around here.

Check the box in the remote server for "Use Passive ftp" and see if that helps.

Typically if you get that type of error there is a problem with the username and password.

If you are sure you have it right, contact your host for assistance.

I have the same problem. I use filezilla, but unlike this, it lets some of the files through but gives the "incorrect password" error for the ones in the failed transactions window. I checked the password twice with the same results.
