Need a new host

My current host was great. But about a week ago everything started to go down hill. There is too much downtime, and I want to move!

I have been searching the net alot for a good host, but every good offer forces you to pay $xx for 12 - 24 months.

Basically I'm looking for a reliable host that offers about 5gb diskspace and 50gb bandwidth for about $5 - 7 a month via paypal! I don't want to pay $xx per year.

Any suggestions?

You'll probably get some good advice here, but also take a look at WHT (http://www.webhostingtalk.com) as that's a great place to search for hosts as well as find out what people are saying. Also think about what features you need, such as PHP, any extensions such as GD, whether it's PHP 4 or 5, database support, how many databases you get, can they offer a backup plan (i.e. access to a machine on their network where you can backup data or maybe something that they do automatically anyway), and definitely make sure that it's a per-month contract.

Webhostingbuzz.com offers the amount of disk space and bandwidth you need, another host to consider is myriadnetwork.com, either shared or reselling (you just can get more resources there).

What about godaddy.com or hostgator.com? Both of those companies are great for sure. If you only need to host your personal site, I can host you for free on my server!
