Buying a domain - help

Hi everyone,
I'm interested in buying a domain and I have two questions about it.

1) Is it best for search engine ranking and simple popularity to have a domain name that matches your website content. Like if your making a website on cars have a domain with cars in it for example: newsoncars.com? And if so, how much better is it?

2) I want to buy a domain that's for sale by sedo.com, but you have to make an offer. It's a .com domain and they say it got 3500 visitors in the past 30 days. Their's nothing on the actual page. So I was wondering, what kind of offer are they expecting and what should my offer range in for such a domain?
The actual domain is trax.com

Thank you

For the domain trax.com id expect they would want quite alot of money. As i contacted to seller about the domain i wanted (marc.co.uk) and they wanted around £2,000+ ($4,000 USD).

And to answer the first question, yes it is good to get keywords in the URL, there was an article in our Webforumz newsletter this month called 'SEO Quick-List' which covers this, you might want to have a look as it has some useful tips. The newsletter is found at:
