www.ultimalabs.co.uk - they're a decent UK based hosting company

Re: domain names and hosting

Seems that you was suggested enough for webhosting. As for domain name registar I suggest you have a look at NameCheap.com (if you find their coupones) - you will get good deal. As far as I know they provide coupones each month.

The reason I say this is its better for SEO and the latency (time from client to server) is reduced because the two are geographically closer. This usually leads to slightly faster/smoother browsing experience.

I think it would also be worth mentioning that if you are new to creating a website and getting it hosted the chances are that you will need some support to get started so its good to make sure that you are going to get good support.

Hope this helps.
I second Dewetha,

Quality of support should be the first thing to be looked for if you are a new to websites. Your host must be easily available 24x7 and should respond you as quickly as possible. Also location of server is also important if you want to top rank at regional SE's.

secondly how do you go about getting someone to host it? i've had a little experience with people like awardspace.com but i just wanted to get some advice from people in the know.

cheers
Hi Jas4

How about telling us a little more about what sort of coding you work with and the type of hosting you will need to match it?

I notice so far that everybody has piled in with "I use this... I use that" but none have actually asked what you NEED?

I know its many months since your initial post so you have probably found a host by now but just in case you havent, drop back with a reply letting us all know what your requirements are, then other members here can offer more focused advice.
