host my own site

ok ... i got Wamp and i managed to get my site up and running got my phpbb2 forum running too...
now im stuck
once i click put online im guessing it is ready for use but i dont know the aderess of the site nor do i know how to point my domain at it
help me pls

You need a static IP for that. It's not really a good idea to host your own site for several reasons. First, it has to be on and connected to the internet 24/7, and it also is going to run really slow unless you have high speed uploading on your site. 100kb/s upload (roughly what Cable/DSL give at best) isn't good enough if more than a couple of people are browsing your site at the same time.

You likely will need to run a DNS server too. Running a web server involves a lot of things. In my opinion, it is not worth the effort, given you get a solid host for some pocket change. Hackers love to exploit unsecured servers too.

hahaha, yep...and you website just won't be fast...also what if the power goes out? Professional website hosts have generators and advanced moderating systems, which you probably don't have, and can't afford.

You'd be better to host your site at the reliable hosting company if you don't want to have great problems in future.
