Email forwarding through domain

Ok here's my question

Ok i was wanderiong if you know anything about email forwarding?

My friend has the domain name waterright.co.uk
and i have just set up his email 'mark.maddox@waterright.co.uk'

so people can send email to that address and the email will send to his personal hotmail account.

BUT! here's the question, how can i get it that when he sends an email from his hotmail it shows up as 'Mark.maddox@waterright.co.uk' in the from address section.would you know of any way to do this?

Would be a useful thing for me to know myself aswell.

Any help would be appreceiated if i do this by phoning up the domain company or i have to do something myself?

thx

You can do this if you are using gmail or an external email account and sending through your ISP's email ports. But as much as I hate to say it, you cannot as far as I know do this in hotmail, or yahoo...unless they let you use something like outlook, or thunderbird as an external email client.

Yeah, It is a new feature that gmail has that allows you to have all of your emails come in to that gmail account. You just have to verify you are the owner of that domain, and then you will be able to receive mail in and out though that domain. Is there any reason why you do not want to use the email that came with your hosting account? Do they not supply you with a web based email, or if you don't like it, I would personally try to get him/her started on a desktop application that checks his email; personally that is what I use, and love it. I would recommend mozilla thunderbird!!

Re: Email forwarding through domain

erm not sure how you mean. All he asked of me was that he has 2 emails with hotmail and he wants the abilty to receive emails through his domain name and then also send emails with his domain name as the sender's address. If there is a FREE way of doing this then im all ears! lol

Also with my own domain name, im setting up soemthing similar, already done it
and erm, i have a few friends too who use mywebsite. Is there any possibilty they can use my domain name like theirname@mydomainname.co.uk i checked my control panel with my hoster and it says anyemail@mydomainname.co.uk gets send to what email you want it to. so im guessing they wont allow me to have multiples. is there a way of doing this ?
