View images like a booklet.
Hey guys I hope this is the right section. I want to be able to insert a scanned brochure into my site. I want the user to be able to flick through this page by page without the rest of the page reloading. I was thinking a floating pane with buttons below the image to flick to the next pasge. All sets of images will be the same size.
I am new to web development and any advice. Even just pointing me in the right direction. I know I havn't explained this very well but I am glad to answer any questions. Cheers Martin |

Re: View images like a booklet.
Hi Martin,
I think what you're after could be done using some sort of script. Which script depends on you and the resources available to you. ImageReady (part of PhotoShop) could do something like it for you using javascript on your page. It would be quite simple to do if you have the software, which is quite expensive. Flash could do it using Actionscript (would be a pretty big file and take longer to d/l than really needed. Php. I think this may be your best option but I don't know enough about it to advise. You might want to repost the question in the php section (also asp, which I know even less about. lol) |

Re: View images like a booklet.
I can't find a website that has an instruction.
The closest I can find to what you want to do is in a book called, "How To WOW - PhotoShop For The Web" by Jan Kabili and Colin Smith. It was written for PS 8 but you might find an updated one for CS2 now. Have a look at the sections covering 'Animated slide show', 'Batch processing photo thumbnails', 'Outputting multiple linked web pages', 'Gallery site with viewer feedback', 'Adding file information to images', 'Customising a web photo gallery'. These may not cover everything you want to do but they may give you something 'outside-of-the-box' to think about as well. I've found this to be one of the handiest books I have on PhotoShop CS (ver. 8). It's quite expensive (mine was just shy of £30.00) but covers a lot more than many other books put together. I haven't had mine for long (about 6 months) and use it all the time. It's quite advanced technique but about a quarter of the book is the basics you need to get something out of the rest. Despite it being so expensive, I reckon it's the best value book on PS that I own. [UPDATE: Not sure if THIS will help but it's the closest I could find online.] |

Re: View images like a booklet.
yw.
The only problem I found with it was it gave me a load of other ideas and, every time I wanted to do something, I kept going off at tangents because of it. lol |

Re: View images like a booklet.
The pages are loading for each image m8.
There are better ways of doing it with code but I don't know how I'm afraid. |
