Hello everyone

Hi there,

I am a newbie here and I am going to kick off straight away with a question:

I have been messing around with web design for a while now, I have taught myself how to use dreamweaver and have just been messing around with that .
I recently joined a membership template site, you know the ones.. a subscription for a year and unlimimited template downloads.
I cant figure out the psd. files. I want to be able to change the logos etc, but dont really get how to do it. The psd files are the only layered images,... how can i incorparate these with dreamweaver? I use fireworks for image production normally but the images arent layered if you open them up from the html files into fireworks.

Can anyone explain me how to use these psd files? Do you mupload them onto your host some how?
Any help is hugely appreciated.

Thanks
Jon

Re: Hello everyone

not sure what your knowledge gap is in photoshop, but browsers dont display .psd files.

file/SaveForWeb will let you export the graphic in a format that works.

Re: Hello everyone

.psd file is a .photoshop file meaning it can only (or primarily) can be opened in photoshop, if you have a copy of photoshop all you will have to do is open it and change it to a layered gif or other format and then your other programs will work with it.
If you do not have a copy of photoshop there might be some freeware out there that lets your convert the file.
