Text suddenly awful in Photoshop 7

Hi:

I have a logo I'm supposed to begin design on tomorrow, but I've been having terrible problems with photoshop 7 today, and nothing I've done seems to help.

The text is choppy, jagged, even with the alias set to "smooth." It was fine yesterday, but today... terrible.

I've used the Shift + Control + Alt while launching the software, but it's not helped. I'm just stumped as to what to do next.

I noticed the text got ungodly small, like little pinpoints too, and normal size text that was set to, say, 14 or 24 was automatically enlarged to over 2000 just to show the right size. The small text is 'cured,' I think, but the look of the text is now so degraded that i could never use it for any design at all.

any ideas??? I'm totally stumped. <img>

Is it affecting all fonts or just certain ones?
Has changing the resolution helped?

I don't know what's happened but something seems to have altered your settings and, if this happened to me, I would almost certainly do a full System Restore to the last day before PS7 changed and keep my fingers crossed that everything returned to normal.

Yep i agree.

Otherwise you will spend too much time looking for the problem.

oh rats. So many changes, etc. since the last restore. Hmmnn... This has happened in the past, though, so I'm not sure what's wrong. I believe I just reinstalled PS last time.. was hoping I wouldn't have to go that route this time, though.

If you're using Windows ME or later, a simple System Restore would be easier than installing PS all over again and should keep your other changes.
