Perspective text in photoshop - help

Since i'm registered, i think it might be worth seeing if anyone has any advice

I'm working on something for my typography project for college..

An although it's only an initial concept design, i'm having great difficulty arranging text with the correct perspective.

I was wondering if anyone had any handy tips or pointers on this...

Also just wondering if anyone has had any problems with CS3 on vista, it seems after being open for around an hour, all the shortcut keys decide to do different things, such as CTRL+T starts to undo things?

It bizzare and illogical to me.... anyone had anything like that, or am i just a little too tired?

Please see attatched my design and you'll understand about my perspective problem (what looks like a path).

I'll give a cookie to anyone who knows which typographist inspired this design

See here

Do you have a legit copy of CS3. Dodgy ones sometimes go bonkers.

Not sure I do understand your perspective problem. Can you explain further

Re: Perspective text in photoshop - help

Yeah it's a student suite i got from my college, I'm wondering wether it's this pc because it's on it's last legs, recently damaged some of it's componants through overclocking, and had to do a quickfix repair (repaced the ram) but the processor seems to have clapped out and the hard drives have become unreliable.

I might try installing it on one of my external drives, but won't this hinder the performance further?

I'm just waiting to get a job before i get a new pc.

If you see the picture on the link, you see the path of text on the ground level, i've tried to give it the correct perspective using the transform tool, but i just can't seem to get it right, and i was just wondering if there was a better method of achieving the correct perspective.

It doesn't seem to fit in with what i would see as the ground level which the 3d letters are placed on.

Maybe that's just me?

Depends on your HDD and connection (SATA, PATA, USB 2). Besides, it's not worth installing on another drive. All the registry entries will still need to go on your OS drive, and that's where issues usually occur

Re: Perspective text in photoshop - help

Hmm, i run linux (ubuntu) off my firewire drive though, it seems to run okish.

Aaah i think i'll just stick it out for now, until i a new pc (probably months away)

Thanks, anyway in regards to the picture i think i'll just leave it like that for now, but if anyone knows any better methods please share.

Also before distorting the text, would i have been better off rasterizing it or not?

I didn't think to experiment, but in my experience rasterized layers often pixelate alot on severe distortions.

Re: Perspective text in photoshop - help

Only real aspect that doesnt really work for me is the word 'suddenly' which should run in line with the L from 'Lee'

Nice job otherwise.

Dont really know of anything in photoshop that can help though. the warp tool is fairly nifty.
