html email?

Hi all
(hope this is the right place to post this)

I was asked to consult a friend regarding html emails.

That is he has a new company as is sending introductory emails to principals around trhe country.
He would like to send emails that contains graphics, matching the website I designed for him. I told him that there is likely to be issues with the recipients, and that a text email is the only one 100% guaranteed to deliver.

Can anyone give any suggestions on what would be the best way to proceed if indeed he wanted to have graphics.
