If I want to design and create a logo what is the best application to use Photoshop or Illustrator?
Same questions for web backgrounds and images.
Thanks in advance.

Re: creating logos, backgrounds and images
For logo designing i suggest using vector graphics like illustrator
for background images you can use both illustrator and photoshop, but photoshop gives you more power for customizing !

Re: creating logos, backgrounds and images
Hi
I would have to agree with MarSoul there, for Logos I definately would suggest Illustrator, but for background and images use photoshop!
Which pieces of software do you own?

Re: creating logos, backgrounds and images
CS3 Web premium, so I have both of them. I need to create a poster and I am assuming photoshop would be the way to go here?

Re: creating logos, backgrounds and images
Yeah, me personally I would use Photoshop to create the poster!
Will this poster include the logo? if so you could create that using illustrator and then transfer it to photoshop, that would be my method!

Re: creating logos, backgrounds and images
Oh right!
Sorry for the misinterpretation!
Well, I wish you luck with creating the poster, remember to post the finished poster on here to be critiqued and see how skilled you are
If you need any help/ideas for it, place your spec here, and we can see what we can do!

Re: creating logos, backgrounds and images
For logos, I personally use Corel Draw. It's easy to use and has a lot of features...
