Critique My New Portfolio Design

Hi All

I have recently purchased my domain name, I am still on the hunt for hosting at the moment though.

Anyway, created a website for my portfolio a while back, which some of you may have seen on this forum, but with me now actually purchasing my domain name, I thought I should create a new design.

The main aim I want in my portfolio design is something that is professional and will get me business, so please find attached my old and new portfolio designs, and then could you please tell me which meets the above specification better, so I can use it as my main portfolio.

Thanks alot
Cracka

Looking good!

I like the navigation icons of the second, but the layout of the first.

The second design is just too busy and cram packed. The first is a lot clearer, neater and easier on the eye.

I think you should use the screen shots without the browser window (so it's only the website itself) - that would look a lot better

Re: Critique My New Portfolio Design

Thanks alot for the critique!

So what you saying is! keep the navigation and header of the newest design, and just keep the layout of the main body of the old one?

Yep!

But like I say, get rid of the browser window on your screenshots

Re: Critique My New Portfolio Design

I agree about the navigation, but the second on seems too cluttered in my opinion, the layout of the second one is better as well IMO

Hope this helps

Re: Critique My New Portfolio Design

Navigation is brilliant on 2nd, but the rest is far too cramped.

Hehe, we've recently had this discussion about that style nav in staff forums - only show the description text on rollover and you got a winner
