I like it.. Although you should really get rid of the Comic Sans font.. That's the forst font to be used on amateur websites..
If you want the site to look professional, use a clean font like Verdana, Arial or whatever, how boring that may sound..

Overall very nice work, but i would decrease the menu font size and also ditch that font, im sure something more sleek and professional looking would be way more adequate.

Re: Draft for a blog checkk it out :)
I was doing a tutorial by Justin @ cartoon smart the other day and he tells you in the tutorial that Comic Sans is the most frequently used font next to Times... People like the "artsy" look but it really isn't that great of a font. Try taking it letter by letter and making your own font. That will prolly look much better.

Great work, looks brilliant.
But I agree, comic sans is awful (believe or not there's a website dedicated to the hate of it).
And also, remove the last pipe on the right of "thisupload" at the top.
The blobs for tags and recent should be different shapes to add some life.

Sam - The Image is Very Big. Could you re-size it and link a thumbnail to the real image?

Arial, Verdana? These are nearly considered worse than Comic Sans in the Design World!
Most people would agree that the only place that Arial (well it's Helvetica really) works is with the 9rules logo.

The Design is great Sam! I like it, but personally don't see much difference between the new & old. However, I feel the slight improvements make a difference. Again, as we've established, Comic Sans is a no-no. However I think you could get away with it in the logo but definitely change it in the navigation. It would, as always, be better if you changed it all!
I like the colours, there are no bad curves (in fact, they're spot on) and the page won't look crowded, in my opinion, once you put a lot of real content there.
Ed.

Vivara you gotta admit helevetica neue if used well is a brilliant font one company renowned for design apple use it all the time if its in context its nice I mean although Im not liking my apple casual(comic sans modification) it could have been used a lot worse I think most things can be good if used in context with the rest of the design.

Helvetica / Arial is used by most professional companies as a content font - which has nothing to do with Logos!
I kind of guessed that it wasn't exactly Comic Sans.
Apple (Inc) use Myriad Pro Semi-Bold for their Logo. Apple use Apple Casual for interfaces and some headings on their website. It is not a variation of Comic Sans, albeit the fact that they are competing fonts. Arial is not a variation of Helvetica even though it is hard to tell them apart. Each of these fonts were made from scratch and were not built upon each other!
Casual is really frowned upon - especially for use in a logo!
These fonts were made by different designers at different time periods.
About Helvetica Neue. This is a variation of Helvetica. When I was talking about Helvetica, I was talking about this font only, and not it's family. It has several differences that separate it from the normal weight / style.

Re: Draft for a blog checkk it out :)
For this design, I actually like comic sans. I can't believe I said that!
How do you plan to code that background? The edges curve so you won't be able to use a repeating background. Is that going to be one big image as a background?

Re: Draft for a blog checkk it out :)
For your information Mr Smarty Pants, those other posts were not there when I posted my reply.
The last post was yours about the curves and making the image smaller.
So there!
*walks away mumbling to herself asking why does WF make me look stupid at times....

Re: Draft for a blog checkk it out :)
It's ok LChad.. I know your smart and I love ya!
As for the font.. I don't care what it is it's ugly. So change it fast before I hack your site and change it for ya! lol. (Empty threat.. I couldn't hack a fly)
As for the design and colors... keep it. Need a new logo. Stay away from the apple fonts! I like to use Verdana and then I build a logo off of them by manipulating each character and turning it into something cool. No, don't use Verdana without redesigning each character unless your site is about the Verdana font.
