Handy sites - Tabs, Stripes, Tartans & Icons!

Hey all

Found this bundle of super useful online tools, not sure if you know about them already so thought I'd spread the word

Stripe Generator 2.0 is a nifty AJAX development that automatically generates striped tiles for CSS backgrounds with quite a feat of customisation and ready-made designs

Tab Generator is the same principle, from the same guys, but for making good looking tabs for your navigation.

And finally, if I couldn't preach Pop Minds (the creators) enough, along comes Tartan Designer. If you're daring and fancy yourself your own tartan background or the like, check it out!

Aside these, Icon Search Engine is great for finding ready made icons, many under the General Public License.

Have fun!

I tried this before, it makes great patterns - it's a shame I'm a poor designer and couldn't put them to any good ha.

Whoooooo.. very exciting! I'm especially excited about the stripes because quite frankly I find getting a good stripe is hard to do. The repeat part is HARD!

Thanks a million!

I can easily do that in Photoshop, you just have to know the right angle point for the stripes to repeat itself.
But what karinne do in her WOTM logo, I don't have any idea whether she do it manually or with an auto generated thing?

It's a triangle that's drawn with the pen tool, then copied/pasted all around to have the sun burst effect

There are TONS of tutorials out there on how to achieve that look

The stripes on the forumz however (header and footer) I did by hand just using a 60x60 image I think, then set as a pattern and voilą!
