[SOLVED] Fireworks transparency

Morning,
I have 2 images top image is surrounded by white, i have made the white transparent but it will not show the picture behind (it shows the grey and white boxes).

What am i doing wrong?

Is the above image bigger than the image below? have you set any transparency on the above image?

PS Grey and white boxes are ok they are basically the canvas..

below image 600 by 200
top image 100 by 200
index transparency then added white to the transpancy

Are they jpg's by any chance.
I don't use fireworks but in Photoshop jpg's can have transparent backgrounds except for when you save for web - then the transparent bit goes white.

If this is the case, gif's and png's are cool for transparency.
If this isn't the case - sorry to butt in with a null comment.

found it,
if you use the wizard stick. it selects the white colour then you delete it.

"eventually if you press all the buttons you will find the right one"
