Converting .png to .jpg - fuzziness issue

Hi Everyone, Im sure that this is probably an easy one so bear with me. I have designed a web page using fireworks and when I slice it up and convert the page to slices of .jpg, the images fuzz up...just slightly enough to be annoying. I dont want to go to the limitations of a gif and I am afraid that if I keep the images in a .png format that older browsers wont be able to view the page. Can someone tell me where I may be going wrong here.

I'd start by checking your web settings. What is likely happening is that Fireworks is compressing your images at the moment you're saving them for the web to a level that is 'too' compressed for your liking.

There is likely a setting somewhere in the Fireworks software that allows you to adjust the level of compression.
