help me in creating simple but attractive graphics for my webpage

Well ... like anything, creating graphics or web page, it takes practice ... lots of it ... and great software.
Photoshop and Illustrator are the top software for that stuff. What have you go so far?

illustrators hard.
I've made like 30 + things with it and only 1 or 2 i like. Fireworks is nice and easy
