Transparent .png and IE6

Hi,

i'm building a website for work and after getting it looking perfect have just realised that IE6 (crap) doesn't support transparent .png files.....

Is there any cheap hack to get these to display correctly as this is the only issue holding me up before launching it....There are a number of people at my company that will be viewing it in IE6 so i have to get this issue sorted.....

Thanks,
Andrew

Yes This is annoying but there is light at the end of the tunnel by way of a javascript hack.

This should sort it out for you -- but as far as I know, there is no way to fix them if they have transparency and you use them as a background.

Cheers

.gif files don't support alpha transparency and a lot of the time look ugly and pixelated. png's work fine with no hacks if they don't use the transparency -- but I use them mostly for dropshadows over gradient backgrounds and couldn't live without them.

Re: Transparent .png and IE6

I keep IE6 on my main computer to check these things. I hate how IE6 works with PNGs and even the javascript hack didn't work for me in one instance.

And cross browser compatibility of older browsers made me not use transparant PNGs for another year. When I see my stats say less than 10% use IE6 or older browsers, I'll switch.
