Professional Photos

Has anyone got any ideas how I can make my photos look more professional and give them that one thing in common that makes them all tie in together.

The photos I am talking about are on this website, www.shop4poly.co.uk

Would really appreciate any input. Thanks.

Re: Professional Photos

Using a tripod and very good lighting is the key. Cheapes source of good light is the tripod work lites from walmart. Should have 2 500 w bulbs in it. Take spread them apart.
Thats how i did alot of mine, and then I go back and photoshop them alittle. Oh and another thing see if your camara can have a push button added to it. You can slightly move the camera even on a tripod without it.

Re: Professional Photos

Hi Netstorm

I would suggest using a polarising filter on the building photo, this brings out the colour of the sky a lot more and will bring out some of the detail in the shot.

Try to look for more interesting angles on the shot too, it's as much about what you don't see as what you can, splitting it up into a couple of shots to get the details of what you want to see and leave out some of the rougher looking elements such as the steel fencing.

May seem silly but a good idea might be to have the door open too, this gives the impression the building is open for business instead of up for sale. Likewise with having no activity in the shot - this gives the impression they're struggling for business.

As for the box shot, a little more carefull lighting will make a huge difference, a good trick is to put tracing paper over the lights to produce soft lighting. this will remove some of the harsh shadows in the picture.

Also changing the colour of the background from the same colour as the subject will make it stand out a whole lot more.

Hope this helps,

Tony
