Web design trend analysis of 2006

http://www.cameronmoll.com/archives/000666.html

What do you think?

I think big buttons, big text, etc, is a very nice design idea though!
I frequently use arial, but Looks like most good web designs start to adopt lucida. But will still use arial though.
I think round corners exaggerated make a very good design idea!!
The fluid layout - I expect it to be still not common.
Javascript is definitely in, as it has already been for so long.
More sites will use flash, with small text, its still going to be the trend.

Big buttons - depends on the site/theme

Rounder Corners - I often use
Fliud Layout - Not quite sure of the definition

Insulting when it's too big, let the user adjust his browser if they need the bigger text.

I'm a Trebuchet MS lover myself, but agreed, Arial needs to go.

Depends on the site.

True and unfortunate.
Javascript is definitely in, as it has already been for so long.
I wouldn't say it was "in" for a long time, only recently...
More sites will use flash, with small text, its still going to be the trend.
This is also very unfortunate if it remains true.

Personally I think big buttons belong on the Fisher-Price site, and nowhere else.
I don't think text should be big, but I dislike those )(*$^) sites with 9 pt fonts, and colored light blue against dark blue half the time, to boot. And when I see them, I don't reset my browser -- I leave the site.

Have you ever tried loading a font into a website? I know nothing about it, not even if it's possible, but I came across the idea somewhere.

I'm already getting sick of them.

True and unfortunate.
Why would people not use a fluid layout as their standard?

I agree. About 80% of the flash should die.

Nah, I never would. If you were referring to Trebuchet MS, I believe it's installed on all modern computers. Every Mac and windows box I've touched has it, but I'd love to know more if I'm mistaken. I'm a sucker for accessibility.

While I agree, my only guess (from past experience) is the ease; fixed-width sites are easier to make and have them appear the same on all browsers/resolutions, for me at least.

Bump that up by 20%. My computer is not a tv, if I wanted something to move, I'd download a video.

Flash is used to sell the service or whatever the site is offering.

People are more impressed with a cartoon inside a webpage and thats what these large companys want. Theyre not exactly aiming at the web designer.
