Metal pipes

I am working on my site http://www.fuzzee.info/ and I am trying to make some metal "pipes" down the sides. Those are the first "hand drawn" things that I have made, so they look accordingly.

I have attached my try, and I was wondering if anyone could make it look a bit more "real", I mean a bit more like some metal pipes. My dream was to have more copper looking ones, but I somehow really didn't manage that, so it ended up in grey tones!
