I am totally new to WEB designing , can any one help me to to learn how to design a web banner , I have Just got a job as a web Designner , and i need to design it for my company clients .

i am actually a DBA , oracle Dba , but as there are no project and everything is out sourced , due to my past performance ,they gave me an offer as a web designner , i took it as i need a job to survive ,


Sypher no offence buddy , there r times in life , where u learn the first time , I am not a Web Project Leader , just a small designeer

Any way my friend i would really apprieciate any assistance to learn web designing

I think that being thrown in the deep end is the best way to go, but I agree that they couldn't really be that serious if they just give you the job like that. Let me guess - government?

If so, ask them to send you on courses!

Hi Tim,

U are 100% rite it is the gov, yes I will be going for the course soon, but as there is a major merge in the major Zones, They want at least the website to be ready only the first page to impress the higher up, Secondly, I am not the only one who feels out of place, there are few others too in the band.

I take this as a challenge, and want to excel in web area so the next time when there is something like this I am an assest which can fit in an area.

I have already got a 3 Major degrees, but, very little exp, so rite now I am in the learning stage.

I am trying things my self , will surely send the link here(Not the Gov one as it si the policy)but another one which i will design for my self , though it will not be something great as u guys are , but this is just the beginning , and I am ready to take it

First off you need to learn basic HTML and a graphics program such as photoshop or fireworks.

Then learn dreamweaver.
Theres plenty of tutorials online so start with the basic ones and build up.

Dear sypher,

I known basic HTML , and also not alot but little fireworks , I known moderate Frontpage , and rite now trying to learn Macromedia dreamwearer.
what i dont known is how do people get so goood graphics in fireworks or photoshop, i known it is an art, and u get it with exp .

also i am trying to learn Flash 8, but alll in the start phase .

hope u move forward and take this challenging position in my life

can u guys suggest some website for free tutorial

Practice makes perfect. But mess around with layer effects they give some intresting results.
