I would like to create a layout
Hi
I would like to create a layout like this one for example http://wentworth-miller.net/april/we...mal_layout.jpg I don't know how to start, do I have to use photoshop or fireworks. I've never made a layout before I've noticed that the links are in the picture itself. It's hard I don't understand how to create it. is there any tutorial for making nice layouts? I've searched a lot but I didn't find anything useful. anything you'll provide me will be useful. Thanks |

Re: I would like to create a layout
While Photoshop and Fireworks aren't essential for creating layouts in itself, they serve as a drafting software I guess you could say. Kinda like how you would use the good ol' pen&paper (I still use that sometimes
So ... in a sense, yeah ... you need photoshop or fireworks ... especially with the amount of detail a design like that one has. Total Tutorial has some great tutorials. In the search box just enter "layout" and you should get what you are looking for. A little heads up tho ... I would start by becoming VERY good with HTML and CSS before you start creating layout like this. That way you can better visualize what/how you'll be slicing it because, believe me, YOU DO NOT WANT TO USE THE SLICE TOOL IN PS or FW |

That isn't that complex really it just looks it visually. Looks like a lot of fun.

Re: I would like to create a layout
I'm a fan of Photoshop because back in the day fireworks was horrible in comparison to Photoshop for webdesign. Since Adobe has taken over Fireworks is probably the best website design tool on the market. It's wonderful but I can't afford it so I won't be buying it, lol.
As far as layouts go don't design what you can't code, and I Always use pen an paper before I throw my design up, like my current site I used scissors and tea bags to get the colors down... lol.
