Logo Critique

Hi, I hate doing logo's and just can't seem to manage them (I think Illustrator hates me). Anyway, despite my lack of ability I have to do them anyway (perks of the job apparently).

It was created in Illustrator and is for a personal project I'm just starting. Scuba Site.

That's what I got so far. Just wondered what you though and more importantly, what needs changing/improving?

Your comments and opinions are much appreciated.

Pete.

Re: Logo Critique

Wow, that will be one big logo, I would try something along the lines of changing the font...I am not that big on that font type. Hmmmm, you can tell I suck at giving critiques...just know when I like it, and when I don't...lol

Re: Logo Critique

It will be a lot smaller it's just the graphic itself really. Don't know what to do with it is my problem. And I just kind of threw the text alongside the image. I'll have a play tomorrow, see what happens.

Cheers,

Pete.

Re: Logo Critique

Hey Pete!
I feel your pain when it comes to designing logos!
I just posted an article on logo design on my blog yesterday.. check it out if you are bored today!

The tanks aren't very exciting but very creative. I'd go with the goggles and flippers or goggles and snorkle I think. Possibly make a large set of goggles and in the lenses of the goggles put your site name. Or if that's too complex, do the goggles and snorkle with a fish behind the goggles. Name above.

PM me if you need help!

Re: Logo Critique

Thanks for your comments. Much appreciated.

Ok, so I went and did something with a snorkel mask sort of idea. I got the below reults. First one is just using a few colours and the second one uses quite a few more though not too many. I prefer the first one I think, but I quite like the little bit of red in the second one.

These are just the garphicy bits, I'm working on the text right now.

What do you think of these, any better? Improvements?

Again, your comments are appreciated.

Pete.

Re: Logo Critique

If I had to choose I'd say the second one but they are both very good.
The red will allow you a little design flexibility on the site itself so that's why I chose the second.

Re: Logo Critique

Hello again, thanks for that. But now I'm struggling with the type. I just don't know what to do. I would like something that sits on the right for a rectangular logo but if anyone has any pointers I would appreciate it.

Thanks again,

Pete.

P.S. Good article on you blog, by the way. Some interesting points that I'll definitely remember.
