faded rollovers
im creating a rollover, in button form.
i have an image (say call it image1) that is the normal state another (image2). What im wanting is to make an animated GIF preferably for use in the rollover, which will have image1 fade away and at the same time have image2 fade up. sort of like a backwards glow? I had a go on imageready only to start hurling foul abuse at it lol I know flash would be a possibility but i want to use photoshop, just as i have so many buttons to do and i want to be able to edit the text easier. cheers all |

following so far, not sure what the question is though...

Why not just have two animated Gifs... one for mouseover and one for mouseoff? That seems like the easiest solution for the best effect - especially if you keep the animation short (less than a second long).

yea thats what im wanting an animated gif. however, i dont know how to go about making it.
so i would have a gif, that started with an image, which faded out into another. like a glow. i dont want the the instant change of rollover that would would get when you use normal html, but a gradual change. thats the gif im wanting to make, the gradual change. just dont know how to go about it. cheers |

A program that could help...
If you are looking to do that sort of thing id recommend using Animation Shop it is pretty simple to use, and it comes with Paintshop Pro. (Or it did with Jasc versions, i dont know about the latest version with Corel)
But there is a free trial version on the Corel website. http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satelli...=1047024390003 Hope this helps! |

This is link to a number of ImageReady tutorials including the effects you want to use for buttons (function and animation, even a little remote function as well). Think you'll find what you're after on page 3. They're quite simple to follow. |
