white background still there?

I use photoshop to make images for my site, I want to know something here: okay, I make an image that is a circle with a transparent background, I just want the circle and nothing else, I save the image for web, now when I link the image on my site, behind my circle there is a white background that forms a square. Is there a way to get rid of this?

do you mean you dont need an edge thickness to the circle, you just want the circle itself, to then be 'transparent' on a webpage?

What is it you are trying to achieve, and have you tried other ways?

It is possible that because you save for web, PS has 'flattened' it and hence takes with it the 'square' of the image as a whole. Have you tried transparent gif files? Have you tried not using the 'save for web' option?
Try those if you havent already and come back to us let us know how you got on.
Cheers.

Is that fix for <img src> and css background images?

And save PNG 24 other settings just change file size and quality.

Re: white background still there?

Yea but usually there are two types of fixes. Or does this solve both?

Re: white background still there?

hmm...when you are changing or creating the image try for the background image and change the format, add it white..see if something changes.
